How to stop puppy from taking toys and bones from older dog?

I have a boxer or pitbull mixed with lab mix at 13 months and she refuses to let my older dog play with her toys and/or chew bones.My older dog just drops them when she see’s her coming(which I guess is good so there is no fights over them but I don’t want my older dog to be dissed).Can anyone help me teach the puppy not to do this.I have tried stopping her from going to my older dog but she wants her bones/toys.The older dog has shown signs of wanting to play with her toys but as soon as the puppy hears her she stops or if I tell the puppy she is wrong the older dog acts like she is in trouble and goes to someone with her tail wagging thinking she is in trouble.

we have a dominance problem here and if you don’t get it in check…you may have a fight on your hands one day

its only right that the older dog be the dominant one over the younger dog…so take a few steps to do this…

1. feed the older dog BEFORE the younger dog…make sure the younger one sees this and don’t let the pup intervene

2. when walking…walk them side by side with the older dog NEXT to you and the younger dog on the outside of the older dog.

3. when involving any activity with the dogs make sure the older dog does it first…ie..getting in the car…going up or down stairs…coming in the house…

4. keep in mind that YOU should always be first to ascertain you as the ALPHA

5. make sure the older dog plays with his toys while the younger dog is in the room…don’t let the younger dog play with them at the same time…wait till the older dog is done then permit the pup to play
