Toy Sales
What is a good sales commission in the toy industry?
Right now all I know is that if I sell 100k in a week I get a 2k bonus. I sell toys, collectibles, and models. The accounts are everything below large accounts like Walmart, Kmart, and KB Toys.
Im wondering if 2% is fair at 100k. Apparently it is tiered off for lesser $ amounts (Im nowhere near 100k yet). What should I be asking for/expecting? I do also have a base wage of 7/hour.
I need to know if the commission is the right %.
I’m not in toy industry so I cannot tell how hard it is to sell 100K in a week. However, if you sell 100k a week for 50 weeks (2week vacation) in a year, that’s 5 mil from a single sales person. Commission + wage comes out to 114,000.
If they are mainly existing accounts, I’d say, it is good setup. But if you’re opening new accounts… you should look around for better deal.
