Making Shelves?
We are about to move into a new house and I would like to build some shelving for books/kids toys etc. I think I can do this easily if I have the right tools.
What sort of tools should I purchase for easy assembly, and what kind of wood should I use? (Walking into home depot type stores is intimidating!)
you can easily get shelving without owning anything other than a screw driver and maybe a hacksaw. I’m talking about the hanging wire shelf systems. they are versatile and easy to install.
as far as making some on your own the possibility’s are endless. for the simplest you should have at minimum a hand saw, preferably a miter box, a tape measure, and hammer. or to go high end a table saw, radial arm saw, router, finish nailer and compound miter saw, drill gun, tape measure, hammer, and maybe even a pocket hole jig.
so you see there are lots of steps. how fancy do you want it. if you don’t own any tools stick to the hanging shelf system.
