Where could I see the historic prices of things throughout the years?
I want to know the prices in the USA of things such as food, movie theater snacks, homes, toys, gas and any other goods. Can somebody give me a link for the prices of those things year by year so i could compare the price now to 20 or 30 years ago.
for example, at a movie theater a small popcorn is about 4.00$. How much would that be 20 years ago? right now a regular sized candy bar is about a dollar, how much was it 20 years ago?

The CPI, or Consumer Price Index is calculated each month to show how the prices of things change over time. The data may not go back as far as you like and may not have the specific things you are looking for, but the US Government is probably the only public place to get data like this.
The measures are all RELATIVE to the price of 100, or 100%. That is to say, if something cost 100 in 1990 and it costs 103 now, that means that for every dollar you spent on a candy bar in 1990 you now spend 1.03 on that.
