Why is my dog eating pop cans, plastic bottles and my gutter downspout?

He is 8 years old, has plenty of food and toys and is a Samoyed.
he climbs on tables, gets cans out of recycling. Not that I leave them in his reach. He EATS the plastic water bottles. Styrafoam peanuts are another favorite. The gutter is attached to the house. (WAS) the gutter is now 15 feet shorter than it was. EEK!!!! He is a PISTOL.

My dog is an eskie, a nordic breed too. He also loves to do things like this, I solved this problem with buying a rubber kong toy and putting the little treats in it. He kicks it around to get the treats and trys to destroy it, but they are pretty much indestructable.
