Fingers Sore After Playing Guitar. I need better strings help please.?

been practicing for 2 months straight and tha’ts for about 3 hours a day…….someone had gave me the guitar with strings they bought from toys r us….i cant take it no more the steel is digging in to my fingers…lol i need to order some strings tonight…or buy some tomorrow…..thanks…..

p.s. it hurts when i play…..help me…..lol

what about those

99% of the time it’s not the strings but the action on the guitar itself, most of the time that can be adjusted so your not pushing so hard as to tear your fingers up. some strings such as elixir’s and D’Adderio Alchemy’s are coated so as to somewhat relieve the friction but not pressure, you can also try a lighter gage but I’d really have the string height and action checked out before you go any further.
