I am a fifty year old man who receives pirate toys from my mother in law for x-mas. how can i get her to stop?

I expressed an interest in pirate lore, not toys. How can I nicely put it to her?

Get your wife to call her Mother and say she is sick of the pirate toys in her house and that you have enough pirate shit. It will seem like your wife hates it and not you, make sure your wife suggests something else for a gift though.
