How/where do you store toys/games?

My kids toys have been mis-mashed for a while and I really want to straighten it all out. What do you think of this? Where do you store your kids toys?

DOWNSTAIRS ROOM:
board games, toys, educational things, puzzles,

13 YEAR OLD HANGOUT ROOM:
video games, movies/DVDs, TV, music, arcade games

3RD FLOOR AREA:
desks with computers, book shelves with window seating

IMAGINATION ROOM:
The imagination room isn’t set up yet, but it has a bunch of different themes, changed every other week or so. The theme of that 2 weeks is kept out, while the rest of the imgination things we aren’t using are kept in the large closet in the room.

What do you think of how we store toys? Is there an easier way?
Oh, and each bedroom has a bin for what I call “morning toys”. They are quiet, either a stuffed animal or doll. Those are for when I declare it quiet time (when kids are getting out of control). Mostly happens around the 5:00 hour.

In our house the girls each have a toy bin for their room that they can fill with toys to use during quiet time and in the mornings. I have one bin for the family room that has some favorite toys and a shelf of books for reading on the couch. All the other toys are downstairs in the rec room where they are organized by type. But my 4 girls are all still too young for 1st grade so the stuff we have is different than yours.
