I'm thinking about buying a Holga 120N for fun?

Couple of questions. The camera has a shoe. What kind of flash does it support? I Vivitar by 20 years old that I thought might work. (I do not care if it is compatible with Flash, is just a toy camera, but it would be funny if it did) I heard you can spool it 35mm. If so, no one here knows how? Thank you.

Here ya go! Flashes and 35mm adapter and almost anything you could want for your Holga. Http: / / www.freestylephoto.biz / holga.php I use a Holga 120FN, (built in flash). I suggest that instead of this camera is not the original model by the flash, but because it has foam to support the film rolls, plus a bulb capacity for long exposures. It also comes with a good mask for the 120 film sizes. The 120FN only addresses many of the serious problems with the original Holga … Make no mistake, is still very primitive the camera. However, I have taken some of my best photos with this piece of cheap plastic. I sold out of art galleries and published in Light Leaks magazine. Frankly, I do not know why you want to use 35mm film in it. That is to defeat most of the effects of the camera. The 6 x 6 medium format film is almost 4 times the size of 35mm, resulting in increased detail and options for large print. With the Holga, you need all the help we can get to the quality of photo. Do not use to shoot themselves in the foot right off the bat with 35mm film. I've always thought the Holga photography lends itself to black and white more than color. I use Ilford XP2 ISO 400 film that is the C41 process. I have also used Ilford HP5, but I see very little difference between the two films. You might also use the XP2 for facilitate processing. Here is my Holga gallery if you want to take a look: http://www.pbase.com/s_parrott/holga&page=all have fun with it, but remember, The Holga can also be a "giant killing" when it comes to photos, if you really work with it!
