Blocks classic wooden toy for young children?

I've been searching online for the blocks. Wooden blocks found Uncle Goose and I'm pretty happy. But I'm out of luck with respect to the bricks. I would like the colors. The Doug and Melissa blocks are too small years for anyone less than 2. I have found blocks that are the size you want, but they are not painted. Ideally, 1-3/4 "or more (though 1-1/2" is fine), not made in China. Where can I find the blocks?
