i am willing to visit munich in july pls advice me the best places to visit, the best shopping area with good?

prices, what to do in weekends, and the best store for toys and children games

Munich is a fine place! I really recommend getting Rick Steve’s book which will help you around and even give you tours. Here’s what I would recommend, but should also be in the book:

Deutsche Museum (give yourself a couple days–well worth the trip)
Visit the Olympic stadium and view the city from the radio tower
Walk the Englischergarten and grab a bier in the biergarten
Walk the Marienplatz and see the Frauenkirche and Glockundspiel.
Just behind the S-bahn and the Glokundspeil is St. Peters church. Climb the spire and you’ll get some amazing pictures of the Frauenkirche, Glockundspiel, and Rathaus. On a really clear day you can see the alps in the South.
Just on the edge of the Marienplatz, there’s a lot of tents with knick knacks, and also a really neat biergarten, that sells weißwurst (white sausage).
Check out Jodelwirt (small yodeling pub–really fun and with locals). One guy plays the accordian and sings/yodels and everyone usually claps and sings along. warning, though–It can be very smoky!
Take a commuter train to Dachau, one of the concentration camps. It’s sad, but very informative and moving.
Take a commuter train to Andechs monestary for some amazing beer and a really nice nature walk.
Take a commuter train to Nuremburg or Rothenberg, which are really old but near towns to see.

Salzburg Austria isn’t too far away, but gives yourself an overnight stay there as there’s plenty of shopping and if you’re into it, a Sound of Music tour is really nice!

You also don’t need to rent a car. Everything is just a short walk to a train station (Bahnhof) or main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and parking is a lot of trouble. Trains are always so clean and timely. Word from experience, keep your feet off the seat across from you unless you want some German to yell at you. It’s just part of their customs.

There’s a mall right off the Marienplatz that has German toys, but I forget the name of it. It has everything German, including toys and children games.

Macht viel Spaß!! Prost!!!

P.S. When you need a break from bier, the Volvic Apple water is my favorite flavored water, which you can’t get it in the states :-(
