What's the deal with toxic toys?

Lately I've been interested in buying my toy first sex. I've done some research, listened to several pod-casts, read health articles, but I'm still very inconclusive. The evil that jelly toys?

Actually have never heard of this. I have a hard plastic toy, and I love it, although I've also been considering a silicone. What I heard is that without the appropriate cleaner (as one could buy a sex toy store), can damage the silicone. Soap breaks down over time, like alcohol, which probably can increase absorption of toxicity. In all honesty, it will not be in your body for so long, I would not worry too much. And if you're worried, get a vibrator silicone and a hard plastic "inside".
