Bath Toys Toddlers
chores for toddlers?
my daughter is nearly 2.5 now and she is fully capable of picking up her toys and helping clean up after herself. she also loves to help me with little things around the house. I am making a sticker chore chart for her so that she can start getting rewards for good things. what are some chores that are age appropriate for her. should i put things on there like brushing teeth, washing her hands, and taking a bath? im not sure if those are considered chores or not. what are your idea’s on this? every time she helps me do something i give her some change to put in her piggy bank.. now she loves to help even more!
also let me head off the people now that tell me that i shouldnt put this responsiblity on a 2 year old… IM NOT MAKING HER DO IT!!! i think she should pick up her own toys and put them away but i dont make her clean the floors, windows, and other things!
You won’t get any guff from me – I think it is important for children to have chores as soon as they are capable. It is not like you are asking her to do the family laundry, cook dinner and bring you your bon-bons while you sit on the couch. She is learning to exactly what she needs to be. GOOD JOB MOMMY!!!
It sounds like to me you have a good handle on things. I have teeth, hands, and bath on my list as well as going potty and saying please and thank you.
Good Luck and many blessings
PS – I wish star charts still worked for 17 yr olds LOL
