What is a good disinfectant for a toddler who has thrush..?
My 21 month old has thrush, she was at the doctor last Monday and then it went away but i think it came back a little. So i am thinking that maybe its still in the house…She does take a pacifier, I have been sterilizing them after every use and also doing that with sippy cup’s! I want clean all her toys and more..Anyone have any advice on what is a good thing to do that with? Anything else I need to do..such as change bed sheets and pillow cases everyday??? Also how many of you recommend that “gentian” violet over the nystatin?? I was thinking of trying the gentian violet..
The doctor did put her on nystatin last Monday. It went away and then i noticed it again last night. So I called them and they said to finish out what we have and if that does not work to call them back. I have been boiling pacifers, cups, straws, anything else I can boil! I am just wondering what I can use thats safe for her toys?
I REALLY think Nystatin is a great med. I’ve used it. Honestly, I wouldn’t give the GV to my son.
Is your daughter taking antibiotics, or was she recently?
Washing everything in the dishwasher , if you have one with a “Sani-rnse”, should be enough. It will just take time.
If you have cleaned everything throughly and given the med time to work, I would call the doc and speak with him or her about other possible underlying causes of the thrush.
